× Canadian-born, Annapolis, Maryland-based Jeff Antoniuk is an internationally acclaimed jazz composer and saxophonist. His recordings with the Jazz Update and the MARS 4-tet reveal a musician with exceptional technique and compositional prowess, with many tunes elevated by a reverence for African and world-based rhythms and harmonies. Over the decades, Antoniuk has shared the stage with such jazz and R&B luminaries Ray Charles, Marcus Miller, Jimmy Haslip and David Foster.
A dedicated teaching artist who shares jazz, improvisation and saxophone master classes with thousands of students every year, including leading discussions on art and education at the White House, Antoniuk has been called “a national leader in jazz education. He founded of Jazz Wire online learning communities, and his videos on his popular You Tube channel Jeff Antoniuk - Educator have been viewed millions of times.
Following a multi-day residency guest-teaching Capilano University’s Jazz Studies students, Antoniuk will lead large and small CapU Jazz ensembles in eclectic repertoire featuring his own memorable music and well-chosen jazz music by composers who’ve inspired him.
