tu:NER is a musical trio comprised of Warr guitarist Trey Gunn (ex King Crimson, David Sylvian), touch guitarist Markus Reuter guitar (Stick Men, Devin Townsend) and, on drums and electronics, Pat Mastelotto (Stick Men, King Crimson, Mr. Mister).
tu:NER will perform their original music, improvs and honour their King Crimson DNA. The music is known for being innovative yet accessible in nature, drawing on elements of rock, jazz, prog, funk, and other genres. Notable for their endlessly creative approach to music, and for their highly skilled musicianship, these artists create especially rewarding musical worlds.
After three decades of collaborations, the members of tu:NER have created original works that have become part of the classic neo-progressive rock catalogue of the 21st century. Along with staples from the King Crimson songbook, these three amazingly talented friends guarantee an evening of mind-expanding music of the highest standards of virtuosity, innovation, and melodicity.
Of course, audiences will also be treated to new pieces, as well as characteristic improvisations, which, instead of consisting of simply jamming and noodling, always comprise “instant compositions,” in the telepathic fashion of a unit that is constantly listening to each other with their ears and with their souls. tu-NER is a co-presentation with the Rickshaw Theatre.
