It seemed inevitable that guitarists Marc Ribot and David Hidalgo would eventually join forces, as few musicians possess such progressive mentalities when essaying traditional music from North and Latin America. Both Ribot and Hidalgo use distortion and discordant harmonies to reanimate traditional music, and together they combine such broad musical knowledge and facility I can’t imagine their partnership will result in anything less than pure brilliance." — Chicago Reader LA’s Los Lobos frontman David Hidalgo and Ceramic Dog guitarist Marc Ribot are both known for brilliant, versatile musicianship and daring, decades-long careers, producing rich bodies of work. As a duo, their concoctions are awe-inspiring in their dexterity and spontaneity, infusing traditional music with distortion and discordant harmonies. The New Yorker raves, "A pairing of two extraordinary musicians. David Hilago, of Los Lobos, who can play anything with strings, and Marc Ribot, the experimental downtown electric guitar virtuoso."
