Inspired by Mexico’s San Jarocho music, Las Cafeteras began their journey in an Eastside LA community café, and named the band in it's honour. They’ve since become known for their “uniquely Angeleno mishmash of punk, hip-hop, beat music, cumbia and rock” [LA Times] and for collaborations with folk/indie favourites Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, Cafe Tacuba, Juanes, Ozomatli, the LA Philharmonic Orchestra, and Talib Kweli. "Live, they're magnetic." (LA Times)
